I was born and raised on the beautiful island of St. Croix Virgin Islands, which
can be located right in the Caribbean Sea along with our Caribbean Island neighbors(the Greater Antilles, The Lesser Antilles,
the Leeward and Windward Isles). St. Croix or Cruz as I know it as is the biggest (84 square miles) out of all four Virgin
Islands(St. Croix, St. Thomas, St. John, and Water Island).
Many years ago there were only three Virgin Islands known but today Water
Island which is right below St. Thomas, is now included with the Virgin Islands since it now has residence on it. The name
Virgin Islands is derived from Queen Ursula and her ten virgins who once owned these same islands including the British, French,
Dutch, and now it is the territory of the United States.
Yet I don't refer to the Virgin Islands as the USVI like we have seen
it being advertised on TV many times, because the US don't really support us so we are the VI(Virgin Islands) instead
and that is the term we now use instead of USVI like before. St. Croix will always remain my home this is where my navel string
was buried(which is a Crucian saying) but I surely know my roots are not anciently Crucian but HEBREW ISRAELITE(IBRIY
YSRAYL)
Yet while I am a native of the Caribbean the so called West Indies, I must
also embrace my crucian culture which is African oriented and inspired. Most people from the Caribbean are not West Indians
or Africans but Hebrew Israelites whose ancestors migrated to Africa from northeast Africa, known as Israel today.
It is Yisraelite history that we should know before anything else. May Yah bless St. Croix, the VI, and the Caribbean!
